I was a little apprehensive at first, but boy are we glad we..." Second trip to the Dominican,, first at this resort.. Started at check in, I had booked a room with 2 double beds,, myself, my wife and 7yr old son,, they gave us a room with a single bed, after 5 trips to the front desk and 4 1/2 hrs later they finally moved us to the right room. The front desk people were rude, and didn't want to correct the issue. The only dislike I had was that the room we got was a little outdated. A lot of dust especially around the lamps and ceiling fans. I WILL COME BACK AGAIN JUST MAKING SURE MY ROOM IS IN BETTER CONDITIONS!!!!!Didn't like the wine and the mixed drinks are done right if you request the better labels! We had the same worries and got very happily surprised.Stop waiting for the perfect time of year for your ultimate island getaway. The Dominican Republic's Lifestyle Tropical Beach Resort has seductive tropical breezes and golden sunshine year round. The price is so low because you will be asked to take a tour and you will be pitched a vacation package. The package is not a time share and it is reasonably priced.
Rooms are small and old, showers have no doors and your bathroom gets flooded with water after every shower. Perhaps they went cheap because we went during the off season.
But driving in DR is a risk of life if you are not from there. We went with turinter tours for 37.50 each round trip. You should consider renting a car for about a day which will give you the flexibulity to move around plus you can get one of the entertainers at the hotel to show you around.
We heard later that the taxi ride is .00 one way, so for .00 extra (round trip) we could have taken a taxi, which I would recommend, especially if you have more than 2 in your party because you will actually SAVE money. If you can have a cab take you to Caribe Express bus services it is like Greyhound for DR and hop on the bus that takes you to Puerto Plata. I hear people take a taxi to the Santiago bus station or (Carib Tours) and the ride to Puerto Plata is about 5 or 6 dollars, then a taxi to the resort is 15 or 20 dollars.. At the end it will be more convienent and cheaper than taking a cab.
Room service was excellent and many of the staff have been working there for 4 years or more and are extremely friendly. No one got ill and the staff in the restaurants was very busy.
The buffets cooks are sooo slow, so you do wait for the" grill to order" foods, but they're probably the freshest.
Yes it is available but I don't know if it cost but I don't think so.
